Iga Świątek is deservedly the number 1 ranked WTA women's tennis player and is on a 35 match winning streak having won the 2022 French Open women's singles title earlier this month. We'll have to see how she adapts to the grass at Wimbledon and if she is able to perform as well as she did during the entire clay court season this year. It will simply be remarkable if she is able to make a smooth transition from clay to grass and keep that winning streak moving along and become the Wimbledon Ladies' singles Champion.
Serena Williams hasn't played a professional singles tennis match since Wimbledon last year and we'll have to see how she performs after the elongated break but since women's tennis is so up and down with really no one separating themselves from the rest, could this be the year when Serena Williams wins that elusive 24th Grand Slam title? She'll need her serve firing on all cylinders if it were to happen.
Ons Jabeur's knee injury at Eastbourne heading into the Championships has thrown a wrench into her standing for the Championships this year. She has done just enough this year to make the list of the top contenders for becoming the Wimbledon Ladies' singles Champion. She won the title on grass in Berlin as well and that made her case more legit.
Besides these some American women tennis players have been making waves of late and the ones to watch out for are Jessica Pegula, Amanda Anisimova, and Coco Gauff.
